"Rita Mahtoubian is not a Terrorist" - Art Director/ Lead Miniature Builder

A short film, where a girl recounts past memories and stories of ancsetors, with miniatures flashbacks. The girl also deals societal issues, being a immigrant from iran, and pressures of the american landscape.

 

As Art Director and Lead Miniature builder, I was responsible for all 3 miniature sets getting built, on time. Creating all life size signage, and practical dressing. I also painted and dressed sets, moved furniture, created a heart shaped explosion effect on lattice, and was in charge of all art personnel.

"Symantec Norton Mobile Security" - Art Director

A commercial, where a live person app, keeps poping up in peoples life, changing thier world to suit "the Apps" tastes.

 

As Art Director, I was responsible for dressing a house, for normal and alternate dressing, moving furniture, and placing props.    

"My Brothers Keeper" - Art Director

A short film, about a young 20 something, trying to get out the gang, drug life, and deal with problems at home. He life spirals deeper into a whole when his brother is mistakenly killed and his drug addicted mother cant ber the loss and starts using again blame him for everything. 

 

As the Art Director, The Production Designer and I created the look of a home unkept, dirty and falling apart. I was also in charge of all art personnel, all hand props, dressing drug props, fake blood placement, and doing pick ups and returnes.

"Immaculate Heart" - Art Director

A short film, about a real life story, of Nuns in the 60's revolting against the preordaine notion of the chruch, who go out and experiecnce the world and try new things, for the first time.

 

As the Art Director, the Production Designer and I created the look for monistary in the mid 60's. Creating a 2nd hand clothing store and dressing room, created the nuns bedrooms, and chruch setting. I was also in charge of all art personnel and pick ups and returns of all props and dressing.   

"City by the Sea" - Leadman/ On-Set Dressser

A short film, about a man, who jsut moved to LA, who fantasing about a woman who's he just falling in love after seeing her sing in a dive bar.  He also daydreams about the life he will have, in LA.

 

As Leadman and On-Set Dresser, I was responsible for dressing and redressing sets, moving furniture, placing non-action props, drivng a Cube truck, and all pick ups and returns.  

"Imperial Dreams" - On-Set Dresser

A feature film, about a Young Man fresh out of jail, trying to walk another path and provided a better life for him and his four year old son.

 

As On-set Dresser, I was responsible for dressing sets, greeking logos, moving furniture, and placing non-action props. I also worked alongside the Script Supervisor to keep continuity.   

"Contrapelo" - Construction Coordinator
A short film, about a Mexican barber who is forced to shave a drug cartel leader, destroying the country, and must make a decision to end it there, or let the atrocities continue.
 
As Construction Coordinator, I was in charge of the construction crew, building all flats, constructing two, sets sequentially. Cutting, sanding, painting, and staining, wall paneling, wainscoting, baseboards, and chair modeling. 
"The Boy in Zaquitos" - Production Designer

A short film, about an American Tourist, with nothing to lose, after losing his family. He sent to Central American, ordered to spread a plague, he's immune to. 

 

As Production Designer, I created the look of a third world run-down hotel, with an unkept, mismatched, central american rustic theme. I dressed, one room to look like 2 different rooms; one minimal and old, the other lived in, toys everywhere, and dirty (for an assassination aftermath scene). I also dressed a bar to look like a dirty run down cantina.

"Evil Woman" Music Video - Art Director

A music video using the song "Evil Women" by The Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), featuring Kids lip singing on s stage, playing instruments.

 

As  Art Director, I oversaw the Production Designers vision, in which we created, painted, and dressed, a green screen, with a stage, stand alone colored flats, and silver mylar, hanging down. The stage was dressed with drums, keyboards, and microphones, also. 

"See you in Valhalla" - Prop Maker

​​A feature film, about a girl, who recounts the lost of her brother from meth and her obsession of nordic mythology, which she writes about in her journal.

 

As Prop Maker, I assisted the Prop Master, buying and organizing props. I also created a leather journal for the main character, filled with drawn pictures, printed pictures, and written passages. Also made the journal look beaten up, scuffed, aged, waterlogged, and weathered.  

"Beyond the Donut" - Assistant Art Director

A stop-motion, live action short film, set in a surrealistic world, where a boy is chased by a giant spider, through a terrarium, and desert, after the boy runs from a pet shop owner. 

 

As Assistant Art Director, I assisted the Art Director and Set Builder to create, build, paint, and dress a 3 windowed walled terrarium, and an old mans room. I also created multiple practical props; rock trap door, hatch with a handle, diorama painted for green screen dressed, and dressed a pet store to look like it was old and aged.

"The Protagonist" - Art Director

A short film, For a obsessed writer, with writer's block, whose shut everybody in his life out, trying to finish his manuscript. Who begins to project apparitions of his family, girlfriend, and publisher, making him regret his past digressions.

 

As Art Director, I assisted the Production Designer to create and staged a room, to look like a studio loft in New York City. We created a visual representation of his obsession, writers-block, and shut-in state, via stickies, note cards, candy wrappers, bottles and coffee cups. 

"Dustland" - Miniature Builder & Set Builder

A short film, about a dying Circus, in the middle of the 1930's dustbowl. Where a tightrope walker's assistant must take over for her mentor who died on the tightrope, a year ago.  

 

As one of the Miniature/Set Builders, I assisted the Production Designer create the look for the big tent, both in a 1/12th model and full scale, tent   surrounded by sand dunes, a back stage, and main stage area

"Destroy the Alpha Gamma's" - Set Decorator

​​A mini web series, about a newly elected sorority president of a not so popular sorority seeking revenge on popular sorority. After continued mockery and almost getting expelled, the down and out sorority seeks revenge. 

 

As Set Decorator, I assisted The Production Designer in creating the look for two Sorority houses. We also dressed and staged the house for a party & aftermath of the party (interior and exterior) locations, a brunch tea room, four different college dorm rooms, and an interrogation room. We also created a faux horror student film setting.

"Kittens in a Cage" - Set Dresser & Graphic Designer

A mini web series, about a group of female prisoners, fed up with the mistreatment, and being falsly accused for a bank robbery, plots an escape during an annual talent show. 

 

As one of the Set Dressers, I assisted the Production Designer to create, staged, dressed and painted a theater stage, to look like a 50's era women's prison. We also dress the stage for a talent show stage, cell, lunch room, and open room corridor . I also created most of the signage graphically and hand painted. 

"Am I Beautiful?" - Director & Set Builder

A short film, About a Photographer, who discovers his wife infidelity. Becoming enrage and stewing, hours later, he confronts, kills his wife, then dispose her body. Unknowingly to him, his wife angered spirit, returns seeking revenge.

 

As Director, Writer, and Chief Set Decorator, I created a stylized, dark, surrealistic modern 40's era film, with a minimalist styled, photo studio loft. I color themed the set in a blue and red color spectrum to represent the emotional toll and feel of the characters, what they are feeling, and tone of the story.

"What's in the Basement" - Production Designer & Gaffer

​​A short film, about a woman, in a nightmarish dream, walks into a basement, haunted by a murderous clown. In each room of the basement, they represent a certain color and emotion. 

 

As Co-Writer, Production Designed and Gaffer, I stylized and themed each room is a color and dressed them in emotionally that fit the color. The rooms get progressively darker and sinister, as the clown gets closer.

"The Unforgiven" - Art Director, Set Builder, Cinematographer, & Gaffer

A short film, based off of  a scene from the feature "Unforgiven". When Buffalo Bill is being Confront by the sheriff, about his infamous gun fighting skills.

 

As the Art Director, Cinematographer and Gaffer, I assisted the Production Designer to created, staged, painted, and dressed a set to look like a 19th century sheriff's prison. I also digitally created all the wanted signage.
